Speaker Bio
Adam is specialised in bringing people and technology together to deliver operationally ready systems which increase productivity, reduced cost, improve both safety and environmental performance, all whilst increasing the social value associated with operations. Adam continually finds ways to build systems that benefit both companies and the communities in which they operate.

Most recently Adam has worked for major mining companies including Rio Tinto and BHP designing, developing and implementing advanced mining systems, which blend big data, automated decision making and machine learning to increased productivity, improved environmental and social value outcomes.

Adam’s extensive operational mining expertise gained over multiple commodities in both underground and opencut environments and his detailed understanding of key business value drivers, enabled the gap between operations and technology teams to be bridged. This leads to improved operational performance, engineered cyber secure systems, improved database storage, simpler data accessibility and improved end user usability of systems.

Adam is currently a Committee Member for AusIMM ESG and Social Value forums and leads one of the largest branches in Australasia, representing over 2,200 resource industry professionals. His leadership drives AusIMM’s competitive edge and builds ongoing industry recognition. Most recently, he oversaw the response to industrial manslaughter legislative changes and worked on the introduction of the first Social Value professional industry standards.

Blending design, engineering, art and people together, Adam ensures that operations and products are fit for purpose, highly functional and user friendly - a characteristic directly attributable to his earliest entrepreneurship ventures.

At the age of 14, Adam and his friends created a start-up and building webpages, outstripping IT graduates twice his age. His hunger for adventure was seeded the day he went to a mine-site, aged 12. Marvelling at the complexity of the operations, Adam needed to know how things worked going on to study engineering and business majoring in mining and technology. This curiosity, combined with a deep love for people, underpins a commitment to bring his best to the world and his family.
