Richard is the Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) as well as the Director of the Center for Renewable Energy and Economic Development (CREED). As Director he oversees the teams accountable for the Industry Growth Forum, the NREL Investor Advisory Board and investor networks relationships, Regional and National Incubator Programs, and programs that support entrepreneurs including the NREL Commercialization Assistance Program. Additionally Richard is responsible for IN2 and GCxN, technology incubation programs sponsored by Well Fargo and Shell.

He draws on his 25 plus years of international experience with small, medium and large corporations across a broad range of industry sectors. His background includes roles as investment banking, management consulting and as a start up entrepreneur.
