Brent has 25 years of experience spanning technology, startups and investment in Australia, United States and Europe. He specialises in early stage ventures, guiding founding teams as an investor, mentor and company director in a range of high growth, globally focused startups.

Brent is the Founder and Managing Partner of 77 Partners, which supports high potential founders in Australia with early funding, deep mentorship and global connections. He is also an Investor-in-Residence at Bee Partners, a leading early stage venture capital firm in San Francisco where he is regularly based.

Brent was formerly a founding team member and Head of Investment & Ventures at QUT bluebox, the commercialisation company for the Queensland University of Technology, where he formed and managed the QUT Founders Fund and a range of startup initiatives including QUT bluebox Challenge and Accelerator programs. These supported 15,000 founders, 1,500 ventures and 150 investments over a period of 12.5 years.

Prior to this role, Brent was a New Ventures & Investment Fellow at Boston University's Office of Technology Development and an Associate in the Private Equity and Venture Capital team at Queensland Investment Corporation. Brent has also held roles in management consulting, government startup funding and engineering (including planning, design and construction of major projects in Australia and Europe).

Brent has completed the Venture Capital Executive Program at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, the Startup Investor Program at Y Combinator, and the Venture Deals program at Kauffman Fellows / Techstars. He holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering Science, Bachelor of Engineering, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the International Business Innovation Association Institute.
